Staff Review
Spice and Wolf is a rather unconventional light novel as its two major themes are economics and romance. Some might think that a book featuring economics might be quite overwhelming. But following Holo and Lawrence’s involvement in small and huge adventures of gain and loss will get you quite invested in the story and world. The romance part is also not quite usual for recent light novels. The romantic development between Holo and Lawrence is quite slow, starting from friendship to admiration, to love and respect. It is quite satisfying to read about their personal growth and progress in their relationship.
