Thank you for using BOOK☆WALKER.
The following changes will be applied to the BOOK☆WALKER Membership Rank system from March 27 (Wednesday), 2024 PT*.
*All dates listed below may be subject to change.
Separation of the membership rank systems for Global and Japan store
Alongside the base currency change for the Global store from Japanese Yen (JPY) to US Dollar (USD), the membership rank of each store will be separated and based on each store's base currency.
New rules and conditions for the Global store membership rank system
Currently, the membership rank is determined based on your total purchase amount in the preceding month from both Global and Japan stores.
After the change, your total purchase amount of the last 6 months originating solely from the Global store will determine your membership rank for the following month.
In addition, the "New Release" purchase requirement will be removed as a condition for reaching higher ranks.
Please refer to the table below for a detailed overview.
Your membership rank will change according to the new rules above once on March 27, 2024 (transition period) and then officially on April 1, 2024.
The exchange rate for purchases made in the Global Store in JPY until March 27, 2024 is 100 JPY = 1 USD.
Up to March 26 23:59 (PT) purchases from both the Japan and Global stores will determine the new Global store's membership rank.
After March 27 00:00 (PT) only purchases from the Global store will be counted for the Global store's membership rank calculations.
*The same rule applies to the Japan store’s membership rank.
For example, if you purchased eBooks/audiobooks from both the Global and Japan stores worth 20,000 JPY (200 USD) from August 31, 2023 - February 28, 2024 (PT), your membership rank from March 27 - 31 (PT) will be “Explorer”.
The membership rank system and coin-back rate for the Japan store does not change.
All purchases made from both the Japan and Global stores until March 26th (PT) will count towards your membership rank for April.
However, after the change only purchases made in the Japan store (base currency: JPY) will be counted to determine your membership rank for the Japan store.
Points earned through purchases made in the Global store can only be used in the Global store and cannot be used in the Japan store.
Coins earned through purchases made in the Japan store can also be used on the Global store via the Instant Checkout option (only possible one eBook/audiobook at a time).

August 31, 2023 - February 28, 2024 (PT)
April: April 1 - 30 (PT)
September 30, 2023 - March 30, 2024 (PT)
