If the Windows version of PC Viewer App is not working properly

Please follow the guide below for errors which occur when starting up or using the BOOK☆WALKER App.


What to do first:


(1) Check Windows Update


Sometimes an error occurs if you do not have not done the Windows Update. Please update from "Windows Update" menu in the Control Panel of your computer if you have not updated to the latest version.


(2) Check Security Software


Please check that your security software is updated to the newest version.

1: Search "action center" from the start menu

2: Check the enabled security software from [Security] → [Spyware and Unwanted Software Protection]


3: Update if the enabled security software version is old

4: Restart your computer



* If you have " Google Japanese Input" installed:

(3) Turn off the "Help make Google Japanese Input better~"


1: Open properties for "Google Japanese Input"

2: Navigate to the [Privacy] → [Using statistics and crash reports] → [Configuration Change] (If it asks you permission to make changes to your computer, select "OK".)

3: Tick off "Help make Google Japanese Input better by automatically sending usage statistics and crash reports to Google." and select "OK".



(4) Restart your computer and check if the app is working



What to do next if you are still having problems:


(5) Change Security Software Settings


1: Navigate to [Security] → [Spyware and Unwanted Software Protection] again, and exclude the BOOK☆WALKER app install folder.

2: Restart your computer



(6) Re-install the app


Un-install the app from the Control Panel, and re-install from below.

*Please note that once you re-install the app, you need to download the books again in order to read them.

* Our PC App "BOOK☆WALKER for Windows/Mac" is not compatible with SNS account sign-in (including Google) . Please link your e-mail address account in order to use the PC App.
* Please be noted that because we have decided to concentrate on offering and developing the Browser Viewer in the future, we will not be updating the PC App anymore. We may also stop distribution and usage of the PC App without prior notice due to OS update and/or security countermeasures. In this case, the Browser Viewer will become the only option to read eBooks on desktop PC, which requires a stable internet connection.
